       Linshang Technology has two portable solar film transmission meter, LS160 Solar film transmission meter can test the IR rejection rate of infrared lights of 950nm center wavelength , and the LS160A window tint meter can test the IR rejection rate of infrared lights of 1400nm center wavelength. The infrared center wavelength of these two solar film testers is different, so the infrared rejection rate is different when testing the same film.

       Linshang Technology advises customers to choose the instrument according to the type of film they need to measure. Both the LS160 solar film transmission meter and the LS160A window tint meter can test 530nm visible light transmittance and 365nm UV rejection rates, but the infrared transmittance is different. The LS160 solar film transmission metertest 950nm infrared rejection rate, while LS160A window tint meter tested 1400nm infrared rejection rate. Because of the different wavelength of the infrared light, these two instruments will not have the same infrared rejection rate data when testing the same film.As shown in the following figure, these two instruments is testing a same film, the visible light transmittance and UV rejection rate is the same, but the infrared rejection rate has 11% date difference. 
       According to our experience in this industry and the feedback of our new and old customers in the past decade, most of the metallic film,which can block the heat by reflecting infrared lights, will have better infrared barrier performance to 1400nm infrared lights; And the majority of the absorption membrane,which can block the heat by absorbing heat, will have better infrared barrier performance to 950nm infrared lights. Therefore, we advise customers to choose the right instrument according to the type of film they need to measure.
