Linshang proudly introduces the LS216 Multi-layer Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, an instrument that combines multi-layer measurement, high-precision data acquisition, and intelligent operation in one professional device. Specially engineered for accurately measuring the thickness of multilayer materials, the LS216 is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, shipbuilding, aviation, and aerospace. It’s the ideal choice for coating thickness analysis and industrial non-destructive testing, empowering you to easily tackle the challenge of multilayer thickness measurement.
How It Works:
The probe of ultrasonic thickness gauge emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses that travel through a coupling agent (transmission time negligible), entering the coating. When encountering interfaces of different material densities, part of the wave reflects back as a new ultrasonic pulse while the rest continues through. The reflected pulse returns to the probe and is received by the sensor. The instrument processes this signal and calculates the time of travel. Using the formula H = V × T / 2, where V is the sound velocity in the material and T is the measured time, the coating thickness is precisely determined.
