How does the ultrasonic thickness gauge test the thickness of a large area of steel plate?
Steel products are divided into four categories: profiles, plates, pipes and metal products. Why do steel plates need to be tested for thickness?

The specific test steps are as follows:
Lay the steel plate in a place suitable for testing, remove dust, dirt, scale, rust, paint and other coverings on the test surface of the steel plate, and sand the rough surface to reveal the metallic luster
Check whether the surface of the probe is clean or if there is any wear and tear, so as not to affect the measurement accuracy. If the probe is severely worn, it should be replaced in time.
In the "Sound Velocity Setting" option, select "Known Material Set Sound Velocity", and then check the appropriate steel plate material, the instrument will match the corresponding sound velocity according to the selected material
Apply enough couplant on the surface of the test area, press the probe vertically on the test position and keep it still to ensure good coupling between the steel plate and the probe until the thickness of the steel plate is obtained by the instrument.
If you need to test at multiple points to check the uniformity of the steel plate thickness, you can select the QC mode on the “System Settings” interface to set the qualified interval value of the steel plate thickness, so that when testing, the instrument will automatically judge the value for the user according to the test results. Whether the thickness of the steel plate in the block area is qualified can improve the detection efficiency.
