1. Transparent sound barrier characteristics of different materials
(1) PC endurance board transparent sound barrier
Sound insulation: PC board has obvious sound insulation effect. It has better acoustic insulation than glass and acrylic board of the same thickness. Under the same thickness, the sound insulation of PC board is 3-4DB higher than that of glass. Light transmission can reach 75%.
(2) Acrylic board transparent sound barrier
Acrylic sound barriers have a light transmittance of more than 92%, which is higher than glass. Other transparent plastic plates (such as PC) have low initial light transmittance. It will further decrease with sun and rain and surface damage.
(3) Laminated toughened glass transparent sound barrier
Laminated toughened glass sound barrier refers to further safety treatment after tempering the glass, bonding two pieces of glass together. After the glass breaks, it will not hurt people and will play a safety role. Laminated glass sound barriers have high safety. The adhesive film in the middle layer is tough and has strong adhesion, it is not easy to penetrate after being damaged by impact. Laminated and tempered glass sound barriers have strong light transmission: they are mostly used for landscape sound barriers.
2. Method for detecting light transmittance of transparent sound barrier
Light transmittance refers to the ability of an object to pass through the medium. The light referred to here is mainly visible light. How much an object transmits light is related to the nature of the object. Mastering the light transmittance of the object can make the development and use of products closer to real life. An instrument that professionally tests the amount of light transmittance is called a window tint checker, referred to as a light transmittance meter, which can detect the light transmittance of objects of different properties. For the light transmittance detection of transparent sound barrier materials, we generally use Linshang window tint checker. The test principle of the LS116 window tint checker is to use a visible light source to illuminate the transparent substance under test. The sensor detects the incident light intensity of the light source and transmits the measured transparency. The light intensity after the material, the ratio of the transmitted light intensity to the incident light intensity is the light transmittance, expressed as a percentage.
3. Comparison of transparent sound barriers comprehensive performance
In the laboratory anti-aging test of ambiguity, yellowing degree and light transmittance, after 10 years, the results of the PC board are 18%, 25% and 79%. The acrylic board is 5%, 2% and 90%, respectively. Laminated toughened glass is a transparent material with good light transmission. The material is hard, scratch-resistant, and wear-resistant. It is unlikely to affect the light transmission due to fluff, but the material is heavy and is not easy to process. So among these commonly used materials for transparent sound barriers, acrylic board sound barriers are the best choice for light transmission and high safety performance.
