Linshang Technology has focused on the development of window tint checkers for eleven years. A number of window tint checkers for different test occasions have been launched. It can be used to detect various transparent materials such as automotive solar film, explosion-proof film, building insulation film, foil glass and automotive front windshield.

The earliest window tint checkers showed transmittance. Most instruments today show visible light transmittance as well as the infrared and ultraviolet light rejection rate. The two newly introduced instruments can switch the display mode and the user can set the displayed value according to his own needs. With so many window tint checkers, which one is more suitable for you? This article will introduce Linshang window tint checkers according to different classification methods.

1. Classification from slot size

(1) 0.8mm

The slot size of LS160 and LS160A portable window tint checkers are only 0.8mm. The window tint checker can be used to test a variety of transparent film materials such as solar films.

(2) 6mm and 8mm

The LS162, LS162, LS163 and LS163A portable window tint checkers have a slot size of 8mm and can be used to test materials such as solar film, stick-film glass and automotive side windshield.

(3) 23mm

The LS101 window tint checker has a test slot of 23mm and can be used to test various types of solar film, stick-film glass, windshield and some medium thickness glass materials.

(4) 47mm

The LS180, LS181 and LS182 window tint checkers have 47mm*91mm test notches that can be used to test a variety of solar films, stick-film glass, glass doors and windows and other large thickness materials.

(5) Separate main and auxiliary machines

The main and auxiliary split LS110A and LS110H window tint checkers have no limitation on the thickness of the tested material due to its special split structure. It is suitable for testing the installed glass, such as the front windshield and the glass window of the building. When the thickness of the test material is greater than 20mm, the magnetic properties of the main and auxiliary machines of the instrument are weakened. Manual adjustment is required.

2. Classification from infrared light source

(1) Built-in 950nm infrared light source

LS160, LS162, LS163, LS181, LS110A

Since the heat absorbing film generally has a good infrared blocking performance at 950 nm, when purchasing a window tint checker to test the heat insulating performance of the heat absorbing film. In order to exhibit high heat insulating performance, it is generally recommended to purchase an instrument with a built-in 950 nm infrared light. (Most heat absorption films and a few ceramic films have such optical properties, but the final result is based on actual measurements)

(2) Built-in 1400nm infrared light source

LS160A, LS162A, LS163A, LS180, LS110H

Most metal films and ceramic films have a good infrared blocking effect at 1400 nm. Therefore, when selecting a window tint checker for measuring a metal film, the above five models can be selected. (The final result is based on the actual measurement)

(3) Built-in 950nm and 1400nm infrared light source

The LS182 window tint checker can simultaneously test 950nm, 1400nm and full-band infrared rejection, making it suitable for all types of solar film and film glass materials. In addition to this, SHGC parameters (solar heat gain coefficient) can be displayed.

3. Classification from data display mode

(1) Window tint checkers with multiple modes

LS162 window tint checker display interface

LS163 and LS163A window tint checkers are the latest instrument of Linshang Technology. Three display interfaces can be selected. Users can switch the display interface of the instrument according to their own needs. The three interfaces are:

  • Visible light transmittance

  • Visible light transmittance, infrared rejection rate, ultraviolet rejection rate

  • Visible light transmittance, infrared transmittance, ultraviolet transmittance

(2) Window tint checker with single display mode

In addition to the LS163A and LS163A, many other instruments display visible light transmittance and infrared and ultraviolet light rejection rate.

We hope that the above content can help you when you purchase the window tint checker. If you still have questions, please contact the Linshang technical staff, we will help you find a suitable window tint checker that suits you.
