2. Car paint meter of magnetic and eddy current principles

Linshang auto paint meter is an coating thickness measuring instrument for testing the thickness of coatings on metal substrates. It is often used to test the paint thickness of automobiles. This instrument uses eddy current and Hall Effect principle. After the automatic measurement mode is turned on, the car paint meter automatically identifies the substrate material in which the coating is located and switches to the appropriate mode.

The magnetic auto paint meter use magnetic principle. It is suitable for measuring the paint thickness on magnetic metal substrate such as iron. 

Magnetic measuring principle: The plating thickness is determined by the amount of magnetic flux that the probe passes through the non-ferromagnetic plating and flows into the ferromagnetic metal substrate. Magnetic induction plating thickness gauge is suitable for measuring non-magnetic metal platings on ferromagnetic metals such as steel, paints, varnishes, enamels, plastics, rubber coatings, chromium plating, zinc plating, cadmium plating, copper plating, etc. 

The eddy current auto paint meter use  eddy current principle. It is suitable for measuring the paint thickness on non magnetic metal substrate such as aluminum. 

Eddy current measuring principle: Eddy currents are generated through a process called electromagnetic induction. When alternating current is applied to a conductor (such as copper wire), a magnetic field is generated in and around the conductor. The magnetic field expands as the alternating current rises to the maximum, and collapses as the current decreases to zero. If another electrical conductor is brought close to the changing magnetic field, a current will be induced in the second conductor. Eddy current is an induced current flowing in a circular path. Their name comes from "vortex". When conditions are right, a "vortex" is formed when liquid or gas flows in a circular path around an obstacle.

3. What are the characteristics of the car paint meter?
