When it comes to UVC254 UV radiometer, the most common one is the detection of low-pressure mercury lamps (traditional germicidal lamps). But in fact, with the rise of new UVC LED-X0 light sources and the application of short-wave UVC band in different industries, UV radiometers dedicated for UVC LED-X0 light sources are also developed based on the production needs. When selecting the UVC254 UV radiometer, the UV light source types become an important factor to consider.

1. UVC254 UV radiometer test 254nm UVC germicidal lamp

The germicidal lamp used in hospitals is generally a low-voltage mercury lamp with a 253.7 nm ultraviolet light source, commonly known as 254 nm. For the detection of such a light source, a short-wave UV radiometer with a peak wavelength of 254 nm is required. Because the short-wave ultraviolet 254nm has certain damage to the human body and the hospital has a large number of 254nm germicidal lamps, the hospital should consider the protection of the human body and the convenience of multiple 254nm UV light sources intensity measurement when selecting the UVC meter. Here we recommend a UVC254 UV dosimeter that does not require any protective equipment, which is the LS126C UV radiometer produced by Linshang Technology. This instrument has real-time monitoring function of mobile APP and can store up to 25 sets of test data, which can record the test time of each tube and the luminous power graph of each tube. After connect the UV meter App with the UV radiometer via Bluetooth, the test person can view the measured data outside of the testing roon on the mobile phone. The staff who test the intensity of the lamp do not need to worry about being injured by UVC irradiation.

2. UVC254 UV radiometer test waterproof 254nm UVC germicidal lamp

The 254nm germicidal lamps used in the water treatment industry are generally high-power UVC254 lamps and the tubes are placed in the water for a long time. For UV detection in this case, it is recommended to use an UVC254 UV radiometer that is waterproof and the power (UV light irradiation intensity) range is large enough. Linshang Technology has a high-power UVC-WP probe that is waterproof. This probe is water resistant to one meter deep and has a maximum power range of up to 200,000 μW/cm2. It can meet the UV light irradiation intensity testing requirements of water treatment 254nm germicidal lamps.

3. UVC LED UV radiometer test UVC LED germicidal lamps

The rise of UVC LED light sources also promoted the birth of UV radiometer for UVC LED germicidal lamps. At present, the more commonly used UVC LED ultraviolet light sources mainly have several bands of 265 nm, 275 nm and 280 nm. Since the spectrum of the UVC LED source is different from the spectrum of the low-pressure mercury lamp 254 nm, the conventional UVC254 UV radiometer can not meet the testing requirements of the various bands of the UVC LED light sources. For the measurement of UVC LED germicidal lamps, it is recommended to use the Linshang LS125 UV light meter host + UVC LED-X0 probe. Its spectral response is 240nm-320nm, suitable for testing 260nm-285nm sterilization UV LED. The UV light intensity of each short-wavelength UVC band is measured up to 200000μW/cm2.

In summary, the short-wave UVC light source mainly has two kinds of traditional low-pressure mercury lamps and UVC LED light sources and each of the light sources has high power and low power. Therefore, when selecting the UVC254 UV radiometer, many other factors need to be considered except for the UV light sources types.
