UV energy and intensity measurement play a very important role in UV curing processes. UV curing ovens are widely used in the fields of optical fiber, silk screen, liquid crystal, electronics and packaging. 1. What is UV curing oven?

A UV curing oven, also called a UV furnace, is a device that obtains a coating film that can also be crosslinked by rapid polymerization of a monomer/oligomer mixture. UV curing oven is a high-tech that has developed rapidly in recent years. It is widely used in the fields of optical fiber, electronics, silk screen, liquid crystal, packaging, etc., such as: screen printing, medium-sized packaging carton offset printing, nameplate, desk calendar. 

2. How do we get UV radiation ?

The ultraviolet light source achieves the curing effect by irradiating ultraviolet light on the object to be cured. UV energy standard needs to be set before mass production. Over curing will damage the goods. If the curing is insufficient, the goods won't meet the standard. UV radiation can be calculated using UV integrator. The UV integrator can be widely used in UV curing ovens. Let's take Linshang LS130 UV integrator as an example to demonstrate how do we get UV radiation using UV integrator.

  • Step 1: Press the "POWER" button in the off state to turn on the uv integrator.

  • Step 2: The last measured UV energy is displayed.

  • Step 3: Press the "POWER" button and select "YES" to start a new measurement

  • Step 4: "RUN" indicates testing

  • Step 5: Irradiate energy meter probe with ultraviolet light source

  • Step 6: After testing , press the "POWER" button to stop testing

However, the ultraviolet light source on the market is further divided into high pressure mercury lamp and UV LED lamp.
